NetAccess 5.0 Overview and System Requirements
NetAccess 5.0 includes updates to the open X-Series Linux operating system with the latest 2.6 kernel allowing for the future anticipated use of faster processors such as Intel’s Quad Core line of CPU’s, larger memory capacities, and the use of 10GigE (10 Gigabit per second Ethernet) network adapters for very high throughput networks. In addition version 5.0 supports the USB 2.0 interface Disk-on-Chip modules, substantially improving storage I/O performance. NetAccess 5.0 also includes immediate application features and functionality enhancements that will support the many vertical industry markets where IP3 NetAccess Gateways are used today. Those features include: enhanced network diagnostics, a centralized system log file, an email notification engine, FTP file management as well as an improved graphical interface and easier navigation.
NetAccess 5.0 System Requirements
- Hardware: NetAccess X Series only, legacy NetAccess gateways will not support NetAccess 5.0. IP3 offers a very competitive hardware upgrade program - information for the upgrade program can be obtained by contacting IP3 Sales
- Memory: 512 MB Physical RAM or higher*
- Current IP3 Networks Annual Service Contract
End-of-Life Notification for IP3 Software Version 4.1 - May 21, 2008
Second Rule LLC is officially announcing the End-of-Life of firmware version 4.1. Customers with an installed base of Version 4.1 are highly encouraged to obtain the latest NetAccess release. Annual service contracts for firmware versions prior to 4.1 are not available. In order to obtain the latest release from IP3 - a current service contract is required. Renewal of annual service contracts requires updates to the latest NetAccess firmware release.

IP3 NetAccess GUI Update - February 12, 2008
Second Rule LLC has released the below preview of the upcoming enhancements to the NetAccess graphical user interface. The changes will be made available in the upcoming 4.2.9 firmware release. The release is scheduled to have general availability on or before February 20, 2008. The updated interface includes a new navigation system that allows moving between configuration screens with much greater ease, and is fully functional on most mobile browsers (BlackBerry, iPhone (Safari), and Opera are supported). The below preview requires a flash player.
NetAccessAPI DTD and Module Release - August 14, 2007
Second Rule LLC today announces the availability of NetAccessAPI, an industry standard, open Application Programming Interface for its leading IP3 NetAccess Gateway products. NetAccessAPI is based on the open standard W3C-recommended XML language, allowing any user to fully integrate the IP3 NetAccess Gateway using any programming or scripting tools, including Visual Studio, Crystal Reports, Python, PHP, ASP and many others. End-of-Life Notification for IP3 Software Version 4.0 - August 30, 2006
IP3 Networks (IP3) is officially announcing the End-of-Life of firmware version 4.0. All NetAccess products will ship with Firmware Version 4.1 and cannot be downgraded to 4.0. End-of-Life Notification for IP3 Software Version 3.2 - August 30, 2006
IP3 Networks (IP3) is officially announcing the End-of-Life of Software Version 3.2. Unless otherwise requested, NetAccess product ordered as of December 12, 2005 will ship with Version 4.0. Customers with an installed base of Version 3.2 will continue to receive support from the IP3 Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as set forth in the milestones and time lines in Table 1. Customers are encouraged to migrate to Version 4.0 as new features and software enhancements will be applied to this version. NetAccess units that are covered by an Annual Service Contract can be upgraded to the current general availability release at no charge.
